Update

No more blog posts about potty training . . . I get more frustrated the more I talk/type about it:) Oh, the things you never expected when becoming a parent.

Pregnancy is going well. According to two of my colleagues, I'm getting REALLY big. I'm trying not to take it too personally. I agree, I have grown in the past two weeks, but no one has to tell me that!

The heat has been getting to me a bit . . . my hands and feet have been swelling a little more than with Bailey by the end of the day. Nothing serious, just a little uncomfortable.

Bailey is in an incredibly fun, yet frustrating stage. You should hear some of the things that come out of her mouth. Here's a taste . . .

"Mom, I'm coming - chill out!" - she actually told me to chill out - not sure where she got that phrase - Joey and I don't use it much.

To her aunt Julie "My mom's pregnant - she has a baby in her belly." I had no idea she even knew the word pregnant.

After accidently hitting me in the face with her cup and I let out a little scream "Mom, don't do that - you're scary."

"What's that noise - do you hear it mama, do you hear it?"

And, she's got a memory that blows my mind. A few weeks ago, we were at the neighbors' pool and she got out on the hot concrete and just froze - then started screaming because her feet were hot. Since then, she refuses to get out of the pool unless you splash a good amount of water up on the concrete. If only she would apply that memory to going poop in the potty! Oh yeah, I said I wasn't going to write about that any more:)

Have a great week!

Oh, Potty Training

Say a little prayer for mommy this week . . . she is losing patience with this potty training process. Probably wasn't a good plan to try to conquer this milestone while tired and pregnant. I just don't understand how a child can hold her pee all night long (most nights), but can't figure out how to poop anywhere but her panties. This is definitely not my favorite part about being a parent. I'm sure, this too shall pass. I keep praying that tomorrow is the day that Bailey will figure it out and for me to treat Bailey with love and grace through the whole process.

Pregnancy is going well. I had my 24-week checkup this week. All is good. The doctor actually started talking to me about the delivery - how soon I need to get to the hospital (much sooner than last time!), my plans for pain management, etc. I know I still have a ways to go, but it is sneaking up on me. We're nowhere near ready . . . don't even have a name picked out yet.

Joey and I are hosting the member/guest golf tournament and Rolling Hills this weekend. 3 days full of golf for Joey and evening events for both of us. Should be fun!

Have a great week!

22 weeks - Last round of Ottawa classes for a while . . .

Many of you who know me well know that I teach some online and weekend courses for Ottawa University. The extra cash allows Joey and I to do many of the home improvement projects on our long list!

Well, this week, I started my last round of classes for a while! I have two online that started on Monday and an in-person class this Saturday. I'm trying to get back into the habit of grading papers during every nap and after Bailey goes to bed . . . it's a little exhausting at times.

But, by the end of the July I will be finished and will take a much needed long break (maybe a REALLY long break) to get ready for the new baby. Say a little prayer for me that my patience stays strong.

Baby is growing and is constantly moving now. I can even feel kicks and punches on the outside. I'm trying to get Bailey to feel it, but she won't keep her hand on my stomach long enough yet. I think it might freak her out!

We've officially started week 2 of potty training with Bailey. . . have definitely made some progress this time around - but now we're trying to work on doing #2 in the toilet. She still tries to hide whenever she has to go. What is it with kids and hiding when they have to go poop? I left her alone in her room for less than 5 minutes today and what does she do? Goes into her closet, shuts the door, and poops in her pants. Patience, I know. Slow and steady wins the race!

Will write more soon.

P.S. - thought I'd share some funny Bailey comments from the last few days. Her vocabulary is really growing.

To Daddy . . . "Mommy spanking my butt again cause I was naughty."

To Mommy . .. "Mr. Brunner (our kind neighbor) has a nice pool Mama. I think I'll go swimming tomorrow when I wake up from my nap. Ok, Mama? "

When I walked into daycare to pick her up one day (I hadn't seen her yet that day) . .. "Mommy got a new dress . . . and new shoes too!"

When leaving daycare on Monday (I think she is confused by the days because I'm working wacky days this week), "Bye-Bye Teresa - have a nice weekend!"

TOO CUTE!
