Week 13

So . . . the excitement of telling everyone is pretty much over. Some colleagues and friends suspected something, but most were completely surprised.

I'm officially in the 2nd trimester. I'm feeling much better, but am still pretty tired. Tuesdays are the hardest, since I'm home Friday through Monday and can usually sneak a quick 20-30 minute nap sometime in the afternoon. But Tuesdays are extremely busy at work . . . no napping allowed:)

We had a great weekend playing in the snow. This was Bailey's first real experience with the white stuff. She just wasn't walking quite well enough last year to really enjoy it. She kept trying to eat the snow - pretty funny!

Joey's been gone for a few days in Ohio and I almost forgot what it was like being a single parent for a few days. I've never done it pregnant before. But, we've made it through with flying colors. Let's just hope Bailey had a good day at daycare.

Thanks for all of the prayers for a healthy baby . . . keep them coming!

Here We Go Again . . .

I figured I should join the mommy blogging world - I teach teachers how to create and use blogs for goodness sake! I've been following many other blogs and love reading about everyone's families and lives. I thought since I'm always using and participating in "professional" blogs, it would be fun to start my own "personal" blog.

How's this for a first post? Bailey wants to share with you some exciting news . . . she's going to be a big sister! She's very excited, but a little nervous. Every time I ask her, she's certain that it's a baby girl. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

So, here we go again. I'm about 12 1/2 weeks - almost through the first trimester. I've seen and heard the baby's heartbeat via sonogram around 8 weeks and just yesterday heard the heartbeat via Doppler. It's just as amazing the second time around. I had a rough 4 weeks or so (from about 6 weeks to about 10 weeks) with morning sickness and exhaustion - the same time Joey was in the car accident and Bailey had that horrible stomach bug. Needless to say, it was a little stressful. But, I'm getting my energy back day by day and am so looking forward to the second trimester. I'm planning to tell people at work tomorrow - I think a few people may be a little suspicious due to my changing bathroom habits! The only people who know up until this point are our parents, siblings, and neighbors Caressa and RJ. Caressa knew right away - even before I went to the doctor - she just knows me too well. And, you should have seen how fast RJ ran to the corner when he heard the accident Joey was in. He was so worried I was in the car!

I changed OB's this time around due to location - My family practice doctor recommended a man in the practice right next door to Wesley Birthcare Center. I was a little nervous about having a male OB doctor, but absolutely love him. I would recommend him to anyone! He makes you feel like the only patient in the world. I think he sat in the room and just asked me questions and talked to me for over 20 minutes at my first visit.

The official due date is October 3rd, but even at 8 weeks, I was measuring a day or two early, so I've just been telling people the first of October. October is going to get even busier for us, with my birthday, Joey's birthday, and our five year wedding anniversary this year. God is so good.

I hope you are well - will write more soon!
